About The Artist
LaDarius Daniels aka “Low D” was born in Dallas TX but grew up in Gilmer TX. LaDarius had a love for soul, rnb and blues at a young age thanks mostly to his grandmother and aunt. LaDarius soon begin songwriting and not long afterward, joined his middle school band wanting to be a drummer. The band director told him he didn’t have any rhythm to play drums and put him on saxophone and the rest was history. LaDarius had tons of success in band at a young age earning 1’s on solo and ensemble UIL performances. LaDarius first discovered jazz fully his freshman year when his HS band director gave him a jazz cd of a band out of New Orleans called Youngblood Brass Band “Word On The Street Album” due to the fact that he was always trying to add extra notes to the music in band rehearsal. His band director then saw potential for him to become a great saxophonist. LaDarius from then on wore that CD out until he had to ask for another copy and a jazz nerd was born. LaDarius quickly fell in love with the genre and saxophone and decided to major in music once he was a senior in HS. LaDarius went on to college as a music major and after 2 years decided to join the National Guard Army Jazz Band, but due to a knee energy was unable to finish training. Since then LaDarius (now Low D a name given by some of his first band members) plays all over East Texas, Dallas, Houston, and etc. Low D has plenty of notable performances like preforming at House Of Blues, The Free Man, and has opened up for blues legends like TK Soul & LJ Echols. Low D is one of the best saxophonist if not the best from East Texas. He has his own company/record label called Stay Saxy where he has released some amazing music like his new album “Bedroom Sax” and his versions of your favorite music you all know and love.
